CreativeMornings /Auckland with Guy Ryan (Festival for the Future)
Friday 26 April, 8:00am - 9:30am
Movers & Shakers (MindHive)
This month we have the global theme of “The Future”, and we’ve decided to highlight the future generation of the creative community here in New Zealand. We are chuffed to welcome a community pioneer, creative young leader and good friend that exudes that, Guy Ryan.
A proud West Coast lad – Guy has won international filmmaking awards, run major community festivals and start-‐up organisations. In 2011 he founded Inspiring Stories Trust, and now two years in has developed a suite of partnerships & programmes to help young New Zealanders unleash their potential to change the world.
Alongside that, Guy was a semi-finalist for Young New Zealander of the Year 2012, a Vodafone World of Difference Recipient in 2011 and has had numerous speaking engagements including, Philanthropy NZ conference, Big Data panel, MINA, Toi Whakaari and Leadership New Zealand amongst many others.

We’ve been warned that there may be a few wood chips scattered around the place, but we’re excited to get a sneak peak into what will soon be the BizDojo Makerspace, when we hold CreativeMornings there this week.
Currently in construction and ready to be opened this July, BizDojo Makerspace will take the co-working vibe that BizDojo does so well for digital creatives, and apply it to a studio workshop environment for analog artists.
As well as working tables, an infinity photography wall, and industrial sewing machines, the space will feature its very own gallery and cafe/bar open to the public.
CreativeMornings will be the first of many events to be held in the space - with this set up the place is bound to be well-used as a creative venue for the K’Road area. Adobe trainers ‘Bring Your Own Laptop’ will also have a design classroom in the space and will be holding all kinds of training events and activities.
If you’ve been looking for a space like this to work from, you can read more about how the membership will work here. Or you can talk to our very own CreativeMornings Co-Organiser Elise Sterback at our next event - she’s part of the team making this Makerspace happen.
