Our April theme is “The Future” brought to you by Squarespace
From recycling bins to open-source ideas, this March we dissected “Reuse” across our chapters. April is arriving in full force, and we’re jazzed to announce our next theme: “The Future” brought to you by Squarespace. San Francisco chapter host Erika Hall selected the theme, and the talented Frank Chimero illustrated it.
Writer/artist Austin Kleon will speak at our shiny new Austin, TX chapter. Other speakers include location software maker/explorer Amber Case (Portland), and Catherine Rohr, who founded an accelerator program for ambitious entrepreneurs with criminal histories (New York.)
To find the April event closest to you, keep your eye on CreativeMornings.com, or follow your local chapter on Twitter. As always, free tickets are available starting the Monday before the talk.

Launched in September 2011, Gather & Hunt is an online experiment disguised as a culture guide. It’s a directory, event guide and magazine that documents and celebrates all the wonderful places, people and things happening in Auckland city.
The purpose of Gather & Hunt is to make it easy for everyone to appreciate how lucky they are to be living right here - think of it as a map to the magic. In fact, g&hers are so dedicated to urban magic that they sometimes create it themselves in the form of Tasting Clubs (very special breakfasts, lunches, dinners) and Stomping Grounds (neighbourhood take-overs).
Becoming a gather & hunt reader immediately transports you into a community of people who love to share their neighbourhood wisdom - people who care about the city they live in and have made a conscious choice to make the most of it.

We are super stoked to be collaborating with Gather & Hunt this year to bring you creative breakfasts for CreativeMornings Auckland events in 2013! Read about their first write-up here »

CreativeMornings /Auckland with Rob GarrettFriday 26 October, 8:00am - 9:30amFormer Contemporary Art Gallery(Entry on Lorne St, by Khartoum Square)
This month we have a couple of very exciting things happening with CreativeMornings /Auckland:
1) It’s our one-year birthday! (And yes, there will be cake)
2) We’ve collaborated with Art Week Auckland to bring you Rob Garrett presenting on the development of his recent curatorial initiative “Lost in a dream”
“Lost in a dream” is an international contemporary art exhibition curated by Rob Garrett for Snake Pit, Auckland; 19 October – 10 November 2012
“Lost in a dream” brings together fourteen renowned and emerging artists from Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden and the United States whose work has excited Rob Garrett. When invited by Snake Pit to curate a show, Garrett considered the most interesting prospect would be to introduce the gallery and its audiences to new artists. Snake Pit already has a strong programme of showing young local artists and several of Garrett’s recent Auckland projects also have had this focus. Therefore he felt it would be more interesting to go further afield by inviting several Northern Hemisphere and Australian artists, but also to include some local artists who are currently completely unknown.
